Planning for the mothballs! Posted Fri, 10/02/2020 - 09:28

After quite a bit of planning, Eldrich Host 2.0 — a complete rewrite using the EP2 rules and books — is underway! No ETA at present, but there will be a time in the coming 6-8 months when the EP1 version of this site will be archived and no longer usable. If you currently have character sheets, homebrew materials, or campaign documentation that's hosted here, we'll keep static versions of the content online for quite some time to ensure no one loses anything.

Further updates as events warrant!

This small cluster of habitats stationed around Earth’s Lagrange points and on or in orbit around Luna formed an alliance of necessity, rather than joint political or social agendas or cultural roots. In fact, individual stations are quite diverse and sometimes polarized, as many of them cling to old Earth cultural and national identities. Due to their relative proximity, members share basic resources and services and have signed mutual assistance agreements in case of an emergency.

Location Type

Officially labeled the TITAN Quarantine Zone, the TQZ is a large area stretching from the smooth plains of Amazonis Planitia (between the Tharsis and Elysium volcanic areas) and southeast to Arsia Mons (just west of Noctis). This zone is known to be crawling with leftover TITAN machinery: warbots, nanoswarms, and other dangerous things. Several devastated habitats lie in this region, including the former Islamic stronghold of Qurain.

The Moabite strain functions exactly like the haunting virus (p. 366, EP), except that the character of the hallucinations and altered mental states experienced by the victims is explicitly religious. The infected are visited by angelic messengers inciting them to action, perceive non-believers as twisted hobgoblins and enemies as demons, and generally experience the world around them as being full of portents from God. Far from being typical cult charlatans, infected characters are imparted with genuine belief by the virus, making them particularly dangerous.
